On Thursday, 18 June, the Sustainable Procurement Coalition NL brought members together for an in-person session on "Contracting with ESG Principles", focussing on how organisations can strengthen supplier contracts by integrating sustainability and ESG considerations into procurement and legal processes.

Our guest speaker Nadia Cicek (Arcadis) shared expert insights and practical case examples, followed by an engaging peer-learning discussion with professionals from procurement, sustainability, legal, and compliance.

The session underscored how the global convergence of regulation, litigation, and enforcement is reshaping supplier contracts into a control mechanism for ESG risk. What made the discussion particularly valuable was the way it connected impact, compliance, and commercial realities.

Participants left with practical insights on how to integrate ESG into contracting processes, helping bridge the gap between sustainability goals and day-to-day procurement and legal operations.
