From Monday, 22 to Wednesday, 24 June, over 120 companies across Europe came together to advance responsible business at Social Sustainability Platform at the UN City in Copenhagen, organized by the UN Global Compact.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). In a time when human rights are literally and figuratively under attack, civic freedoms are shrinking, and AI brings a risk of deepening existing inequalities, it becomes even more important that businesses follow these principles.

Together with our HQ colleagues and 24 European country networks, we facilitated connections among participating companies to exchange insights on what works and what does not.

The Netherlands was represented by Gwen Wolting (Ahold Delhaize), Brigitta Stark-Negyesi (ASM International), Gabriela Silva-Romme (ASML), Jan-Willem Vosmeer (The HEINEKEN Company) and Renske Jansen (PostNL), with support from our Senior Program Manager Jamie Holton.

Thank you to all the companies for your openness, and your continued commitment to protect the rights of people within your workforce, supply chains, and affected communities. We will continue to support you.
