Monique Lempers new chair of the UN Global Compact NL
Monique Lempers, Chief Impact Officer at Fairphone, has been elected chair of the UN Global Compact NL, succeeding Bianca den Elsen.

The Hague, 04 June 2026. At its General Assembly at the World Forum, the UN Global Compact Network Netherlands elected Monique Lempers as its new Board Chair. Lempers, currently the Chief Impact Officer at Fairphone, succeeds Bianca den Elsen following the completion of her term.
Lempers steps into the role with over two decades of experience driving sustainability, supply chain ethics, coalition building and organizational transformation. Her background bridges corporate strategy and grassroots impact, including her pioneering work in sustainable electronics at Fairphone, IDH and SOMO, alongside senior advisory roles at PwC.
"We see governments around the world hesitating, stepping back, questioning and rethinking agreements made together - that worries me.
